Bulls come from behind to beat PawSox

March 20, 2014

The Pawtucket Red Sox dropped a 4-2 decision to the Durham Bulls on Thursday afternoon in Fort Myers, FL. The PawSox took a 2-1 lead into the 8th-inning but Durham used two hits and a walk to load the bases against loser Dayan Diaz and then got a 3-run double with two outs off reliever Miguel Celestino to turn the 2-1 deficit into a 4-2 lead. Diaz was charged with all 3 runs in his 1.2 innings of work while Celestino allowed all three inherited runners to score but otherwise did not give up a run of his own in his 1.1 innings.

Anthony Ranaudo started for the PawSox and struggled a bit with his command but only gave up 1 run on 2 hits in 4.1 innings despite surrendering 5 walks. Alex Wilson had a 1-2-3 6th-inning.

Pawtucket scored both of their runs in the bottom of the 2nd-inning. Travis Shaw singled and scored on a Scott Cousins RBI double. Cousins came around to score on an RBI single by Derrik Gibson.

The PawSox (2-4-2) will play at home against the Rochester Red Wings on Friday afternoon.
