The Greenville Drive went down 13-2 against the Bowling Green Hot Rods in tonight’s matchup.

The Hot Rods were the first to strike when Diego Infante sent one out the park and brought Tanner Murray home to put two on the board. A throwing error from catcher Stephen Scott sent Johan Lopez racing home and added another run to Bowling Green’s efforts.

The third inning saw another run for the Hot Rods with Heriberto Hernandez homering one to left center field.

The fourth inning brought more success to Bowling Green who hung five runs on the Drive. The first came off the bat of Lopez who launched one out and Michael Bergland followed with hitting a homer himself. Beau Brundage batted in Ronny Simon, and the last run of the night was a 440 missile from Alexander Ovalles.

The Drive finally got on the scoreboard thanks to Alex Binelas’s homerun, which made the score 9-1 in the bottom of the fifth.

The runs kept coming for Bowling Green who added one in the sixth.

Greenville’s Nick Yorke took a trip around the bases in the sixth making the score Bowling Green 10, Greenville 2.

The Hot Rods kept tacking on the runs with a three-run homer from Brundage in the seventh inning.
