In the eighth, Alex Destino singled on a line drive to center field to begin the frame. After a groundout, moving Destino to second, Jhoandro Alfaro singled in Destino with a ground ball through the right side, giving the Intimidators an 8-1 lead. With a single from Ian Dawkins, Lenyn Sosa picked up his third and fourth RBI of the night with a line drive double (8) into right field, increasing the lead to nine.
With Romy Gonzalez capping off his four-hit night with an infield-single on a ground ball to second baseman Rubendy Jaquez, Bryce Bush doubled (8) on a line drive on an 1-0 pitch to put Kannapolis up 10. Representing the eighth batter to come to the plate in the eighth for the Intimidators, Corey Zangari hit a sacrifice fly to right field, allowing Gonzalez to come in to score the twelfth and final run of the game.
After a clean inning in the first for both teams, Zangari singled on a line drive to left field, scoring two batters later after a hit by pitch and fielding error by first baseman Reed Rohlman.
In the fifth, Destino tripled (1) to center on an 0-2 pitch to lead off the frame, with Amado Nunez grounding out and Alfaro lining out to shortstop to bring up Dawkins with two outs. After one of Dawkins' five hits on the day, bringing in Destino to give Kannapolis a 2-0 lead, Sosa homered (1) on a deep fly to left center, pushing the lead to four.
After adding on another run in the sixth, Dawkins hit his first home run of the season to left field on the first pitch of the seventh inning, giving the Intimidators a 7-0 edge. Gonzalez and Bush combined to give Kannapolis an 8-0 lead before the Intimidators exploded for five runs in the eighth.
