LANCASTER, Calif. - The JetHawks could not make it three wins in a row Saturday night, falling to Inland Empire, 10-4, at The Hangar. Lancaster had an early lead, but Inland Empire ran away with five runs in the fourth inning.

LANCASTER, Calif. - The JetHawks could not make it three wins in a row Saturday night, falling to Inland Empire, 10-4, at The Hangar. Lancaster had an early lead, but Inland Empire ran away with five runs in the fourth inning.

Colton Welker put Lancaster (2-1, 35-38) on the board in the bottom of the first inning after a Jahmai Jones leadoff home run. Welker's eighth home run of the season tied the game, 1-1.
The JetHawks took the lead, 2-1, in the third inning on an Alan Trejo sacrifice fly. Inland Empire (1-2, 34-39) answered with five runs in the top of the fourth. Brandon Marsh capped off the rally with a three-run inside-the-park home run to put the 66ers in front, 6-2.
Lancaster scored two in the bottom of the fourth on RBI singles from Wes Rogers and Jacob Bosiokovic, but that was as close as the JetHawks got. Inland Empire scored three in the seventh and once more in the ninth to seal the win.
Matt Dennis (4-8) took the loss for Lancaster, giving up six runs in four innings. It marks the first time in ten starts that Dennis failed to lower his ERA.
Jeremy Beasley (3-1) made it through five innings for Inland Empire to earn the win. Two relievers combined to shut out Lancaster over the final four innings.
The JetHawks can win the series with a victory Sunday afternoon. Brandon Gold (5-3) goes against Matt Ball (1-1) in the finale. The four-game set wraps up with a day game at 2:05 pm.
