(EL PASO, Texas)Niko Goodrum belted his second home run since joining the Sugar Land Space Cowboys, also giving him a hit in seven of his last eight games.

Goodrum’s home run was the lone of the night Saturday for the Space Cowboys, as the El Paso Chihuahuas left the yard five times.

The Space Cowboys were defeated 14-5 by the Chihuahuas at Southwest University Park.

Goodrum’s home run was a solo shot in the eighth, which traveled 400 feet to right field. He finished the night 3-for-5 and has hit .355 (11x31) over his last eight.

El Paso led for the entirety of the contest, jumping out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning. Brent Rooker homered twice, with CJ Abrams, Nomar Mazara and Aderlin Rodriguez also homering.

The Space Cowboys got on the board in the second with an RBI groundout from Scott Manea.

Corey Julks continued his prolific May with an RBI double in the fifth. Julks has an extra-base hit in seven straight games and extended his hitting streak to 11 games. Julks has hit .359 (23x64) with three doubles, two triples and eight home runs over his last 15 games.

Lewis Brinson added a sacrifice fly as part of a two-run fifth and Cesar Salazar drove in Brinson with an RBI single in the seventh, which was Salazar’s first RBI as a Space Cowboy this year.

The Space Cowboys finish out their road trip in El Paso at 7:05 p.m. on Sunday. Jonathan Bermudez is scheduled to start for the Space Cowboys, with El Paso turning to righty Pedro Avila.
