Four BlueClaws Homers in 9-5 Friday Win

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The BlueClaws hit four home runs on the way to a 9-5 win Friday night at Winston-Salem.

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The BlueClaws hit four home runs on the way to a 9-5 win Friday night at Winston-Salem.

Jersey Shore (30-40) snapped a three-game losing streak and picked up their first win in the fourth game of their series against the Dash (29-41) at Truist Stadium.

The BlueClaws opened the scoring in the first inning when Jonathan Guzman took Johan Dominguez (3-6) deep on the game's first pitch for his third home run of the season, second of the series. Cole Stobbe hit a three-run home run, his second of the season, in the second inning to give the BlueClaws a 4-0 lead. Keaton Greenwalt singled home a run in the fourth inning

Jhailyn Ortiz hit the third of the three BlueClaws home runs with a long drive to left field. It was Ortiz's 62nd home run of his career, 14th of the season, and fourth of the road trip.

The BlueClaws added another run in the seventh on an RBI single by Vito Friscia.

Meanwhile, Ethan Lindow (2-4) threw six scoreless innings to earn his second win of the season. The left-hander gave up just four hits and one walk while striking out five.

Winston-Salem tried to rally late. Gunner Troutwine hit a three-run homer off Manuel Silva in the seventh to slice the lead to 7-3. Then Alex Destino's two-run home run off Tyler Burch cut the lead to 7-5.

Logan O'Hoppe then hit the fourth BlueClaws home run of the night in the ninth to put Jersey Shore up 9-5.

It was the third time (June 4th and 6th) that the BlueClaws have hit four home runs in a game this season. Vito Friscia had a hit and three walks for Jersey Shore.

The teams continue their series on Saturday night at 6:00 pm. The BlueClaws return home on Tuesday to welcome in the Brooklyn Cyclones (Mets). Tickets are on sale now by clicking here.
