The Salt Lake Bees used the long ball to edge the Tacoma Rainiers 4-3 on Friday night. Kean Wong led off the game with a double and Michael Stefanic walked before Jo Adell lined a 1-1 pitch over the right field wall to give the Bees an early 3-0 lead. After Tacoma plated a run in the bottom of the fifth, Dillon Thomas answered in the top of the sixth with a solo shot over the fence in right center.

Tacoma scored a run in the bottom of the ninth to pull within one, but Jose Marte retired the final two batters to strand the potential tying run at second to earn his first save of the season. Jonathan Aro worked a three up, three down eighth inning to get his second win of the year. Starter Janson Junk, who hadn't pitched in three weeks, tossed four scoreless innings with one walk and two strikeouts. Salt Lake managed just five hits with two of them delivered by Magneuris Sierra.
