Jay Schuyler's first home run of the year could not have come at a better time for Chattanooga. With the game tied at two in the eighth inning and their playoff hopes on the line, Schuyler delivered a go-ahead two-run home run to make it 4-2 Lookouts. Chattanooga is now only two games back of the Birmingham Barons for the final playoff spot. Birmingham still has five games to play against the Montgomery Biscuits due to rainouts.

Before Schuyler's dramatic home run, the two teams traded runs. Mississippi struck first on a Justin Dean solo homer. An inning later Matt Lloyd belted a double to score two runs to retake the lead.

A home run by Greyson Jenista tied it up in the fifth and the game remained knotted up until the eighth.

Lookouts starting pitcher Jacque Pucheu was sensational in his second start of the season. The southpaw threw six innings and only allowed two runs on three hits. Closer Daniel Duarte closed the door on Mississippi in the ninth and earned his sixth save of the season.

Tomorrow the home team aims to continue their hot streak. RHP Dylan Baker takes the mound for the Lookouts. Gates for Fireworks Friday presented by Metro Plumbing Heating and Air open at 6:00 p.m. game time is set for 7:15 p.m.
