Shortstop Ramon Urias reached base in all three of his plate appearances and four Tides relievers recorded scoreless outings, but Norfolk (15-23) dropped Saturday night’s game at Harbor Park to the Durham Bulls by a 9-0 score.

Durham took a 5-0 lead in the second inning and never looked back, with five Bulls hitters each recording multiple hits on the evening.

Norfolk pitchers Travis Lakins Sr., Cody Carroll and Claudio Custodio combined to post 3.1 hitless innings in relief, while Marcos Diplan added another scoreless frame. Second baseman Jahmai Jones, meanwhile, extended his team season-high hitting streak to 10 games with a single in the bottom of the eighth.

Bulls reliever Sean Poppen, a Virginia Beach native and graduate of Cape Henry Collegiate, threw two scoreless innings for Durham.

The Tides and Bulls (27-13) will play the finale of their six-game series tomorrow afternoon, with Norfolk left-hander Alex Wells looking to earn his fifth straight win. Wells has tossed nine shutout innings over two appearances against Durham this year, striking out nine Bulls hitters and holding the team to a .094 batting average with no walks and just three hits.

Durham will counter with lefty Dietrich Enns, with first pitch at Harbor Park scheduled for 1:05 p.m.
