The Reds made three roster moves on Thursday, including the claiming of right-handed reliever Pedro Beato off of waivers from the Red Sox. Catcher Corky Miller and right-handed starting pitcher Greg Reynolds were outrighted by the Reds and elected free agency.
Beato, 27, was 1-1 with a 3.60 ERA in 10 appearances this season for Boston and had a 2.98 ERA in 34 games with Triple-A Pawtucket. In 2006, he was a first-round Draft pick of the Orioles.
