Altoona takes the rubber-game of the series, 8-2

Portland, Maine- Arden Pabst hit a three-run homer over the Maine Monster in the second inning and the Altoona Curve (67-55) took the rubber match over the Sea Dogs (53-70) 7-2 in front of a sellout crowd on Sunday afternoon at Hadlock Field.

Portland, Maine- Arden Pabst hit a three-run homer over the Maine Monster in the second inning and the Altoona Curve (67-55) took the rubber match over the Sea Dogs (53-70) 7-2 in front of a sellout crowd on Sunday afternoon at Hadlock Field.

The Curve also took the season series over Portland 4-3.
After two errors and two walks led to a run for Altoona in the top of the second, Pabst went yard off of Kyle Hart to extend their lead to 4-0.
Dario Agrazal (W, 5-3) worked his third straight quality start in the win for Altoona. Agrazal went six innings and allowed two runs on three hits, he walked one and struck out six.
Hart (L, 7-9) allowed five runs (three earned) on four hits in five innings while walking three and striking out four.
The Sea Dogs scored both their runs on a two-run double by Luke Tendler in the fourth.
Altoona added to their lead with a run in the fifth on three straight two-out singles and a passed ball. The Curve scored two more in the sixth off of Trey Ball on back-to-back two-out doubles by Tyler Gaffney and Cole Tucker to make it a 7-2 lead.
Pabst completed his Blue-Ribbon day with his fourth RBI on a two-out single in the seventh.
Geoff Hartlieb and Scooter Hightower each pitched a perfect inning in relief of Agrazal. Matt Eckelman allowed a leadoff double to Chad De La Guerra in the ninth but finished the inning without allowing a run.
The Sea Dogs open up a two-game series with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays affiliate) on Monday night beginning at 7:00 PM from Hadlock Field. LHP Eduardo Rodriguez is scheduled to make an MLB Rehab start for Portland. New Hampshire counters with RHP Hector Perez (0-1, 3.00). Radio coverage begins at 6:45 PM on the WPEI U.S. Cellular Sea Dogs Radio Network. MiLB.TV starts at 6:55 PM.
