Sea Dogs to Host All-Star Game at Hadlock Field on July 15th

PORTLAND, MAINE - The Portland Sea Dogs, in conjunction with the Eastern League of Professional Baseball, have announced that William Cuevas of the Portland Sea Dogs and Joe Biagini of the Richmond Flying Squirrels have been named the starting pitchers for the 2015 Sullivan Tire Eastern League All-Star Classic. The game will be held at Hadlock Field in Portland on Wednesday, July 15th, at 7:00 PM.

The starting pitchers were named by the respective managers of the Eastern and Western Division All-Star Teams: Billy McMillon of the Portland Sea Dogs (East) and Jose Alguacil of the Richmond Flying Squirrels (West).

Cuevas, 24, is 8-5 with a 3.40 ERA (82.0 IP, 31 ER, 71 H, 34 BB, 80 SO) in 16 starts for the Sea Dogs. His eight wins lead the Sea Dogs' staff and ranks tied for fourth most in the Eastern League. The right hander from Venezuela also leads Portland with 80 strikeouts, good for fifth overall in the league.

Biagini, 25, is making his first All-Star appearance in professional baseball. The righty from Menlo Park, California is 7-5 with a 1.91 ERA (89.1 IP, 19 ER, 74 H, 18 BB, 58 SO) in 15 games (14 starts). Biagini has the fourth lowest ERA in the league (second lowest among active players). He also ranks among league leaders in WHIP (5th - 1.03) and opponents' batting average (5th - .222).

The Hadlock Field gates will open at 3:00 PM on July 15th. Festivities include autograph sessions with the All-Stars presented by Asylum Sports Bar & Grill, the Electricity Maine Home Run Derby, and a post-game fireworks show presented by Coca-Cola.

The All-Star Classic will be televised regionally throughout New England on NESN with Tom Caron and Mike Antonellis on the call, via the web on MiLB.tv, and on radio on 95.5 and 95.9 FM WPEI, as well as online via the TuneIn Radio App.
