Series Preview: Richmond returns home for exciting series against Yankees affiliate
It’s heating up in RVA! The Flying Squirrels return to Richmond for a six-game set against the Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees from Tuesday, April 29 through Sunday, May 4. The Somerset Patriots’ roster currently includes five of the MLB top-30 prospects for the Yankees.

Highly touted San Francisco Giants prospect and Virginia Native, Bryce Eldridge, was assigned to the Flying Squirrels’ roster last week. He makes his return to The Diamond for the upcoming series as the Giants’ No. 1 prospect.
The series features another Diamond Through the Decades Night with a Brandon Crawford bobblehead giveaway, a Saturday night fireworks show, Star Wars-themed FUNN, happy hour beer specials and much more.

Tuesday, April 29 vs. Somerset Patriots: Earth Day Celebration with River City Visor Giveaway

The Flying Squirrels are celebrating the mighty James River this Earth Day.
The first 1,000 fans ages 15 and older will go home with a River City visor, perfect for a day on the James.
It’s also the next Silver Squirrels game. Fans ages 55 and older are eligible to join the Silver Squirrels club presented by OrthoVirginia and receive member benefits, including tickets to every Tuesday home game, an exclusive T-shirt and a concession voucher. $1 for every 16oz. Great Return canned beer goes back to the James River Association. Fans can purchase Great Return at all main concession stands and the Hardywood stand.
Fans can purchase a reusable steel pint glass at the Hardywood stand. Proceeds will go to the James River Association.

Wednesday, April 30 vs. Somerset Patriots: Reading Night

Congratulations to all the students who completed the Go Nuts for Reading Program.
Students who completed the Go Nuts for Reading Program will celebrate their accomplishment at The Diamond. The pre-game parade will take place from 5:15 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Students who would like to participate in the parade must be in line by 5:35 p.m.
The General Admission section is expected to sell out for this game. The Flying Squirrels recommend that parents of students joining us as a part of the reading program purchase their tickets before April 30. Parents can also upgrade their child’s free ticket to the Terrace Level for $4 and to the Field Level for $8.
Enjoy $7 glasses of wine and wine slushies from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Wine Cart located on the main concourse across from Gilbane Fan Services.
Dogs are admitted FREE in sections 101-103, 201-203 and first base General Admission. Please request a dog-friendly section if accompanied by a pet.

Throw it back to the 2010s for this Diamond Through the Decades Night!
The first 2,000 fans of all ages will go home with a bobblehead of Flying Squirrels legend and San Francisco Giants World Series Champion Brandon Crawford.
Catch the Flying Squirrels wearing throwback sleeveless jerseys from the first year of franchise history. Fans can bid on game-worn jerseys here and all proceeds benefit Flying Squirrels Charities mission to provide educational and athletic programming to underserved Richmonders.
Fans can see Flying Squirrels 2013-2015 pitcher, Jack Snodgrass, who was part of the franchise’s first no-hitter in 2013.

Enjoy Star Wars-themed FUNN throughout the game including a pre-game lightsaber demonstration.
Come dressed as your favorite Star Wars character! Fans can bring plastic lightsabers and wear masks, but masks must be taken off to go through security at the front gates. Fans must continue to adhere to the MiLB clear bag policy.
The Flying Squirrels will be wearing specialty on-field Darth Vader jerseys. Fans can bid on jerseys here with proceeds benefiting the Science Museum of Virginia.

Bring your glove and play catch on the field from 12:45-1:05 p.m. Fans playing catch on the field can enter the field through the field gates located at sections 103/104 and 118/119.
Kids ages 14 and younger can run the bases following the game presented by Richmond Family Magazine. Kids can line up to run the bases outside the Squirrels Nest Team Store at the end of the first-base side of the main concourse. Parents and guardians are allowed to accompany their children onto the field and meet them as they cross home plate.
