The Salt Lake Bees jumped out to an early advantage but could not hold on as the Albuquerque Isotopes came back to win 4-3 on Sunday afternoon at Smith’s Ballpark.

Luis Rengifo put the Bees in front with a first inning leadoff home run for the second straight game. Salt Lake would add a run in the second scoring on a passed ball and in the fourth Preston Palmeiro delivered an RBI to put the Bees up 3-1. The Isotopes would strike back tying the game up at 3 in the sixth and former Salt Lake catcher Jose Briceno delivered the game winning run with a solo home run in the top of the 8th inning.

Jaime Barria allowed one run over five innings to lower his Salt Lake ERA to 3.20 on the season. Packy Naughton made his first pitching appearance since May 23 and allowed two runs over two innings. Zac Ryan took the loss for the Bees after giving up the 8th inning home run. Rengifo led the Bees with two hits, including the home run, as the Bees managed just five hits and two walks on the day.
