Harrison Wenson launched a first pitch walk-off two-run home run to give the Bees a 10-9 extra innings win over the Reno Aces on Monday night.

The Bees led 8-2 going into the ninth inning before the Aces stormed back with a six-run rally to tie knot the score at 8 and send the game into extra innings. The Aces took advantage of the designated runner on second scoring on a leadoff single from Stuart Fairchild, but Bees pitcher Zac Ryan was able to limit the damage to just a single run. With Torii Hunter Jr. at second base to start the bottom of the 10th, Wenson took the first pitch of the inning over the left center field wall to give the Bees their first win of the year.

Jo Adell led the Bees offense with two home runs, driving in a season-high five RBI. Hunter Jr. collected his first hit and first home run of his Triple-A career in a multi-hit night. Wenson’s walk-off home run was the first by a Bees batter since April of 2018.

The Bees and Aces will wrap up the six-game series on Tuesday night at 6:35 p.m. Salt Lake will take Wednesday off and then host Tacoma for a six-game series from May 13-18. Tickets are available at www.slbees.com.
