The Salt Lake Bees scored eight runs in the fifth inning to break open a close game and cruise to a 10-3 win over the Tacoma Rainiers on Tuesday night. Salt Lake was already up 1-0 going into the fifth thanks to a 442-foot blast by Jo Adell in the fourth inning.

Jack Mayfield led off the fifth with a double and scored on a single to left by Chad Wallach. One out later, singles by Jake Gatewood and Magneuris Sierra loaded the bases and Michael Stefanic followed with an RBI single to make it 3-0. With two out, the Bees put the game away with three straight two out, two RBI hits; a two run double by Jose Rojas, a two single by Kean Wong and a two run homer by Mayfield. Rojas closed out the scoring with a solo homer in the seventh.

Jake Kalish (8-2) became the PCL's first eight game winner, as he went five innings and allowed two runs on six hits with three strikeouts and one walk. Rojas led the Bees' eleven hit attack with three hits and three runs batted in, as he fell a triple shy of the cycle. Mayfield added two hits and two RBI, as Salt Lake wins its third consecutive game.
