The Salt Lake Bees (51-56) were handed their second loss of the series Wednesday night, falling to the Sacramento River Cats (46-61) 4-3.

Jose Gomez and Orlando Martinez both hit home runs in the ninth inning, giving Gomez two home runs in his first two games as a Bee. Martinez now has two home runs in his last three games.

Sacramento held a 3-0 lead after three innings, thanks to home runs in the second and third. The Bees got on the board for the first time in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly from Martinez.

Down three runs with three outs left, Gomez and Martinez went back-to-back to cut the Sacramento lead to just one run. The Bees had runners on first and third with two outs, but couldn’t bring the tying run home as the River Cats escaped with the win.

Game three between the two teams is set for tomorrow night at 6:35 p.m.
