Flying Chanclas Win Third Straight to Start Season

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Flying Chanclas used a hot start to carry them to a 5-2 victory against the Acadiana Cane Cutters Tuesday night. The team improves to 3-0 on the season. Luke Malone was the starting pitcher for San Antonio and looked tremendous in his season debut.

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Flying Chanclas used a hot start to carry them to a 5-2 victory against the Acadiana Cane Cutters Tuesday night. The team improves to 3-0 on the season.

Luke Malone was the starting pitcher for San Antonio and looked tremendous in his season debut. He pitched six scoreless innings, allowed four hits, and struck out six batters.

On the offensive side, The Chanclas scored in the first, third, fourth, and eighth innings. Ryan Flores hit an RBI single to drive in the game’s first run as he plated Jake Mares.

Zac Vooletich drove in a run in the third inning with an RBI single that Flores. This made it a 2-0 game. The following inning, the Flying Chanclas added two more runs. Mares and Julio Riggs both scored on a fielder’s choice and a throwing error. This made it a 4-0 game.

Acadiana attempted a comeback in the top of the ninth inning. They loaded the bases against reliever Jarek Wells. Wells pitched out of it after allowing two runs to score.

The San Antonio Flying Chanclas improve to 3-0 on the season. They are back in action Wednesday night against Acadiana at 7:05 p.m. at Nelson Wolff Stadium.
