Portland, Maine- The Portland Sea Dogs will celebrate the start of the summer season at their game on Friday, June 23rd when the Sea Dogs host the Harrisburg Senators at Hadlock Field at 7:00 PM.

All fans attending the game are encouraged to wear their Hawaiian Shirts to the game with the first 1,000 fans entering the ballpark receiving a Hawaiian Leis.  Tiki Thom and the Beach Band will be performing pre-game on the front plaza.
Additionally, as part of Minor League Baseball's Cover Your Bases Sun Safety initiative with the American Cancer Society, the Sea Dogs will be utilizing the game to educate fans about the importance of sun safety.
The first 1,000 fans to enter the ballpark will receive free sunscreen samples, provided by Blue Lizard Sunscreen. Throughout the game the Sea Dogs will provide fans information on skin cancer and measures they can take to proactively reduce the risk of cancerous developments due to overexposure to UV rays.
"Minor League Baseball has long been a staple of summertime in America, and being outdoors increases the risk of overexposure to the sun and its potentially damaging rays," said Minor League Baseball President and CEO Pat O'Conner. "This partnership will help educate our fans on ways they can enjoy summer activities safely, as well as methods of cancer prevention and treatment."
As part of the Sea Dogs commitment to sun safety, the Sea Dogs have also partnered with the City of Portland's Public Health Division to have sun screen dispensers located throughout Hadlock Field this season as part of their Play More Burn Less campaign. Stop by the Portland Public Health Division table at the ballpark on Friday, where they will be giving away free pairs of sunglasses.
