SALT LAKE CITY (May 13, 2017) - Nolan Fontana hit a walk-off inside-the-park home run in the bottom of the 11th and the Salt Lake Bees rallied for their fifth consecutive victory, defeating the Iowa Cubs 5-4 in in the 11th annual Pack the Park Pink Game Saturday night at Smith's Ballpark.

Fontana drove the ball to the left-center gap and circled the bases for the first Bees inside-the-park homer since Matt Young rounded the bases on June 25, 2013. It was also the first Bees walk-off homer since Grant Green's blast on August 17, 2015 and the first walk-off inside-the-park homer in team history.

"I got a good pitch over the plate to hit," Fontana said, "I hit it, put my head down and just started running. I got around second base and saw KJ still waving his arm and I thought 'Oh, boy, time to kick it into gear."
Salt Lake got on the board first when C.J. Cron led off the bottom of the fourth with a solo homer to left-center, and the lead changed hands four times in the middle innings. Shane Robinson drove in a season-high three runs and tied the game at four with a single in the bottom of the seventh. Vicente Campos started on the mound for the Bees and worked a season long four and two-thirds innings, allowing three hits and one earned run. Eduardo Paredes, Damien Magnifico, Cody Ege, and Justin Miller (3-1) relieved Campos and kept the game close, with Miller earning the victory.
Salt Lake players wore the names of fans' loved ones impacted by cancer on their jerseys, and the Bees raised $33,800 for the Huntsman Cancer Institute.
The Bees and Cubs conclude their four-game series Sunday afternoon at Smith's Ballpark, with first pitch scheduled for 1:05. For tickets and additional information, visit slbees.com.
