For just the second time in our 23 year franchise history, the Somerset Patriots are searching for a primary Public Address Announcer for the 2022 Season and beyond. Since 1999, Paul Spychala has been the voice of TD Bank Ballpark and nearly all Somerset Patriots games through this 2021 inaugural season as the New York Yankees Double A Affiliate. His retirement brings on a new era in PA Announcing at the ballpark.
The process for finding our new PA Announcer will take place in three stages - open submissions, call back interviews/live reads, and then a final round of more in-depth announcing of game action. A strong voice that may sound "made for PA Announcing" will not be the sole determining factor in our decision. Equally important will be characteristics such as enthusiasm, energy, and sense of timing. A potential PA Announcer's consistent availability will also be a major factor in this selection.
This application process is the only way to submit your candidacy for our PA Announcer. If you are unable to complete any part of this application, please recruit someone to assist you. The deadline for submissions is Sunday 10/24/21. If you are chosen to move on to the next stage, you will be contacted within the first two weeks of November.
If you feel you've got what it takes and will be available for the majority of, it not all 69 home games during the Spring and Summer, then please follow these instructions:
