NEGATIVE TESTING / VACCINATION CARD: The Somerset Patriots are not requiring media to present a negative COVID-19 test nor a CDC-provided vaccination card.
PARKING: It is advised that media park in the RED LOT (to the right of the ballpark) and let parking attendants know they are working media. There will be no charge.
MEDIA DINING: The Somerset Patriots will provide food options for working media during each game. Select nights will feature sponsored catering. On all other nights, boxed meals from the TD Bank Ballpark concessions will be made available, free of charge, for credentialed media and will be distributed prior to the start of the game.
DAILY SCHEDULE / FACILITY HOURS: Daily schedules, game times and facility hours are all subject to change. The press box will typically be open for media beginning 2.5 hours before first pitch and remain open for 60 minutes following the last out.
PRESS MATERIALS: The Somerset Patriots will print and provide daily game notes, rosters, stat packs and lineup scorecards. The team will not print it’s Media Guide in bulk, but can print upon request. All game notes and press releases, along with the team’s Media Guide, are available digitally at milb.com/somerset/team/press-box.
ACCESS AREAS: In coordination with MLB guidelines, working media will be restricted to the press box (or Section 205 for overflow) throughout the game. Photographers / videographers will coordinate with the Somerset Patriots media department once at TD Bank Ballpark to find accessible areas to shoot.
PLAYER / COACH AVAILABILITY: Please note that in coordination with Major League Baseball guidelines, all media availability during the season will be via Zoom or other conferencing methods. Due to safety protocols, there will be no clubhouse availability and no in-person access of any kind to the manager, players, coaches or field staff.
- Patriots media relations will communicate video conferencing information and coach/player availability with as much notice as possible each day
- Media credentialed for a given game will receive an invitation to participate in the day’s availability. Recordings will be posted online shortly afterwards.
DRESS CODE: Members of the media will be required to wear a mask or face covering at all times during the game, both in the press box and around the ballpark.
REQUESTING CREDENTIALS: All credential requests must be submitted online through the team’s website. The Somerset Patriots are requesting that credential requests are made by 12:00 pm on the Monday before the requested homestand begins. There will be no full-season press passes made available by the team’s media relations department. Late requests and/or day-of requests will be accepted if available, but the team cannot guarantee acceptance. Media already credentialed through Major League Baseball, the New York Yankees, or any other MLB club will still need to apply through the Somerset Patriots for a credential to TD Bank Ballpark. No other credentials will be accepted. All credential-related questions should be sent to the Vice President of Communications & Media Relations, Marc Russinoff, at [email protected].
CREDENTIAL PICK-UP / ENTRY: Once approved by the Somerset Patriots, credentialed media will be emailed a confirmation for their scheduled event, including a digital credential for gameday purposes. When at the ballpark, media should enter through the main gate and either display their credential through their phone or print it out to show an usher. If arriving before gates are open, media should check in at the ticket office next to the main gate and display their credential for entry.
LIABILITY WAIVER: Credentialed media will be required to sign a Release of Liability media waiver prior to working an event at TD Bank Ballpark. This waiver is available on the team’s website or via email and acknowledges the COVID-19 risks associated with working an in-person sporting event. Entry to the facility will be denied in the absence of this signed waiver.

Every Somerset Patriots game, both at home and on the road, will continue to be broadcast on the Voice of Central Jersey, 1450 WCTC, with online streaming available at wctcam.com. WCTC has been the flagship home for Somerset Patriots baseball since its inaugural 1998 season and continues to proudly broadcast games to the Central Jersey community and online listeners around the world.
Years with the Patriots: 2015 - present (Entering 7th season)
Schwartz is entering his seventh season with the Somerset Patriots and his fifth as the team’s lead radio broadcaster. His broadcasts can be heard on the Voice of Central Jersey, 1450 WCTC-AM, and on MiLB.tv. He previously worked as the lead broadcaster for the Keene Swamp Bats (NECBL) in 2012 and the High-A Charlotte Stone Crabs (Florida State League) in 2013 before joining the Long Island Ducks as a broadcast assistant in 2014. In addition to his broadcast roles, the Quinnipiac University graduate also works as the team’s primary video producer, assists in all media relations and communications for the team and is responsible for the sales of marketing partnerships and ticket packages.
In May of 2019, a video of Schwartz catching a foul ball while simultaneously providing play-by-play commentary of the catch went viral. The video was featured on national TV programs including ESPN’s SportsCenter, along with ABC’s Late Night with Jimmy Kimmel. It received multiple millions of views online and was picked up by blogs, prominent websites, and local affiliates around the country. A t-shirt campaign followed featuring the phrase “Boy am I impressive” that generated thousands of dollars for local charities.
Years with the Patriots: 2019 - present (Entering 2nd season)
Pelter is entering his second season with the Somerset Patriots. He previously worked as the team’s Broadcast / Media Relations Assistant in 2019 as well.
Pelter graduated from Penn State University in May of 2019. At Penn State, he was the general manager of the student-run radio station, CommRadio, and broadcast 14 different sports for radio and the Big Ten Digital Network. He has won numerous awards for his work including two Collegiate Emmy’s and the Harry Kalas Award from the Philadelphia Broadcasters Foundation.
