Lowell Drops Third Straight

Spinners fall 2-1 in Brooklyn

By Lowell Spinners | September 1, 2017 9:40 PM ET

Following a double-header sweep the night before, the Spinners (31-38) came into Brooklyn (22-48) hoping to boucne back. Unfortunately, it would be yet another frustrating night for Lowell.

Tanner Nishioka picked up his first of three hits on the night in the top of the second with a one-out single. Samuel Miranda followed up with a single to his own to put a pair of runners on before Yomar Valentin walked to load the bases. Nick Hamilton singled up the middle to drive in the go-ahead run, marking his fourth straight game with an RBI.

Starting pitcher Nick Duron went five innings while allowing a pair of earned runs on seven hits. He struck out three and walked none but picked up his fifth loss of the season.

Mitchell Osnowitz closed out the game with three strong innings of relief, striking out four, walking two, and surrendering only one hit.

The Spinners return to Brooklyn tomorrow as they try to avoid the four-game sweep with Yorvin Pantoja taking the hill for Lowell. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
