All-Time Banner Island Outfield #3 Winner: Jermaine Mitchell
Closing out the final outfield spot for the All-Time Banner Island Ballpark team is Jermaine Mitchell. The 6 foot, 215 pound lefty from Naples, Texas was drafted in the 5th round by the Oakland Athletics in the 2006 First- Year Player Draft out of University of North Carolina-Greensboro as the 158th overall pick.
During his time with the Ports, Mitchell amassed a .262 average to go along with 23 home runs and 115 RBI, which included an on base percentage of .362. Mitchell quickly captured the attention of the Banner Island faithful with his speedy play and solid defensive play in the outfield. Mitchell continued to climb the ladder of the A's farm system reaching as high as Triple-A Sacramento until he ultimately finished his career in 2013 with the Rochester Red Wings of the International League (Twins Triple-A affiliate).
