Taylor McCarthy steps down as General Manager

The Stockton Ports announced today that Taylor McCarthy is stepping down as General Manager to accept a new job opportunity at the University of New Hampshire as the new Associate Athletic Director of Business Development. He will be contributing to the day to day operations of the University's Athletic Department.

"To say my time with the Stockton Ports has been amazing is a major understatement. I'd personally like to thank the Volpe Family for their efforts in running a great ownership group with 7th Inning Stretch LLC. and Ports' President Pat Filippone for providing me with a once in a lifetime opportunity." said Taylor McCarthy, "I'd also like thank our fans, partners, and the Stockton community for adopting me as one of their own since 2013. The future of the Ports organization is extremely bright and I know that 2020 will be their best year yet."
McCarthy started his career with the Ports as the Director of Marketing in 2013 and worked his way up to General Manager during his 7 seasons with the Ports. He was named General Manager in 2018 and oversaw all operations of the team including Corporate Sales, Ticket Sales, Marketing and Community Relations.
Prior to his time with the Ports, he worked for the Lowell Spinners' (Short A-Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox) Public Relations and Promotions Department and then spent the 2012 and 2013 seasons as the General Manager of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League's Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide.
"Taylor has been a great leader during his time with the Stockton Ports," said President Pat Filippone, "We wish him nothing but success in all of his future endeavors and we will miss him next year at Banner Island Ballpark."
Opening Day for the Stockton Ports 2020 season is April 17, 2020. Season ticket memberships are now available for purchase by visiting stocktonports.com or by calling the Front Office at (209) 644-1900. Purchasing season tickets gives fans the first right to All-Star tickets before being available to the general public. This is the first time Banner Island Ballpark will host the California League All-Star Game since 2007. Festivities for the day include FanFest, a homerun derby, the California League All-Star Game and a postgame fireworks extravaganza. More details about the All-Star Game coming soon.
