(ROUND ROCK, Texas) – The Sugar Land Skeeters scored four runs in the top of the ninth on the way to an 11-9 come-from-behind win over the Round Rock Express on Tuesday night at Dell Diamond.

After falling behind 9-7 through the eighth inning, the Skeeters plated four runs in the ninth to win their fourth straight game, matching their longest road winning streak of the year.

With CJ Hinojosa at the plate and nobody out in the ninth, Miguelangel Sierra scored on a passed ball before Hinojosa drove a ball down the left-field line for a two-run double. It gave the Skeeters the lead once again in a game they led 7-3 heading into the bottom of the eighth. Jose Siri added a sacrifice fly to close out the ninth-inning barrage. Kit Scheetz retired Round Rock in the bottom half of the ninth to collect his first save of the season.

Curtis Terry’s two-run single off Ronel Blanco put the Express out in front for the first time of the night in the eighth. Jason Martin, Yohel Pozo and Leody Taveras also provided run-scoring singles in the eighth. Taveras came around to score on a throwing error from Hinojosa on a ground ball from Charles Leblanc.

The Skeeters won five-of-six games in their series at Round Rock. Bryan De La Cruz, Hinojosa and Sierra each homered in the victory Tuesday.

De La Cruz struck first with a two-run homer in the first inning. He has homered four times in his last five games and has hit .619 (13x21) over that stretch. De La Cruz’s homer was his 10th of the season, becoming the third Skeeters player to reach double-digit home runs this season.

Following a De La Cruz RBI single in the fourth inning, Sierra and Hinojosa homered to the left-field berm at Dell Diamond in the fifth. Michael Papierski provided an RBI single in the eighth inning.

Right-hander Peter Solomon started the contest and went four innings, allowing two runs on two hits and striking out four. Ryder Ryan received the loss for Round Rock, allowing four runs (three earned) without recording an out in the ninth inning.

The Skeeters are off on Wednesday and will begin a six-game series against the Tacoma Rainiers at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday at Constellation Field.
