They entered Saturday having won seven in a row, marking the longest winning streak in franchise history and the longest active streak in Minor League Baseball.

The Space Cowboys had the historic streak snapped, losing 8-5 to the Round Rock Express.

The Space Cowboys jumped out to a 5-0 lead through their half of the fifth. Korey Lee drilled a three-run home run to the left-field berm at Dell Diamond in the fourth. It was the ninth home run of the year for Lee, who is ranked as the Houston Astros’ No. 2 prospect, per MLBPipeline.

Hunter Brown continued his prolific strikeout rate this season, punching out seven batters through four innings of work. Brown leads the Pacific Coast League with 80 strikeouts and is fourth with a 2.89 ERA.

The Space Cowboys scored a pair in the fifth, with Enmanuel Valdez providing an RBI single and Pedro León an RBI double. León leads the PCL with 17 doubles this year and Valdez has driven in 12 runs through his first 10 games with Sugar Land.

Houston native Dillon Thomas made his Space Cowboys debut and went 1-for-3 with a double, walk and run scored.

Willie Calhoun delivered a three-run double in the fifth and Bubba Thompson hit a two-run inside-the-park home run in the sixth to lead the Round Rock offense.

The Space Cowboys and Express finish out their series at 1:05 p.m. on Sunday, with Shawn Dubin to start for Sugar Land and Spencer Howard for Round Rock.
