(Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, B.C.) - Canadians RHP Josh Almonte screamed angrily into his glove as he walked off the mound after striking out Everett RF Luis Joseph to end the top of the 8th inning. The strikeout came a batter too late as with the bases loaded and two out, Almonte left a pitch out over the plate that CF Miguel Perez smacked down the left field line scoring all three base runners to give Everett a 6-3 lead. It was in that moment that the Canadians were en route toward a 19th loss in just 25 games as the Aquasox topped Vancouver 7-3 on Monday night.
Canadians RHP Adam Kloffenstein was impressive over his 4 2/3 innings of work, bouncing back from a tough outing vs. Hillsboro (July 2) as the 18-year old righty allowed just one hit while striking out three. He danced around four walks leaving the game with a 1-0 lead handling the ball off to RHP Andy McGuire who quickly got 3B Austin Shenton to line out to left to close Kloffenstein's line on the night.
Up a run, McGuire ran into trouble in the top of the 6th allowing a trio of runs on just two hits as the side-armer allowed the first three hitters in the frame to reach base with 1B Cash Gladfelter's double scoring LF Trent Tinglestad to even the game at 1-1. Seconds later a pair of sacrifice flies brought home two more runs to give Everett a 3-1 lead.
Vancouver would draw even in the bottom of the 6th as RHP Ivan Fortunato struggled to find the strike zone walking in one of the two runs as DH Davis Schneider waited the right-hander out to bring the game back even.
Canadians RHP Josh Almonte came in to pitch the 8th inning and ran into trouble immediately allowing a leadoff double to LF Trent Tinglestad and then walked C Carter Bins. After striking out Gladfelter, the Canadians reliever walked DH Cade Marlowe to load the bases before striking out SS Cesar Izturis Jr. producing the second out. CF Miguel Perez hit a 1-0 pitch off Almonte down the left field line that emptied the bases and sucked the life out from the fanbase that was cheering in unison for Almonte to find a way out from the bases loaded jam.
Everett would grab an unearned run off Canadians LHP Luke Gillingham in the top of the 9th inning to make the final 7-3.

The Canadians have now allowed 45 runs in the 7th inning of later... DH Davis Schneider had his five-game hitting streak come to an end with a 0-for-3 night with a walk...
