Nathan Hall’s Big Night Spoiled by Quakes

Visalia, CA – Nathan Hall totaled three hits, mashed a home run and made a spectacular catch in center field but the Visalia Rawhide (49-69, 21-31) fell to the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes (57-61, 21-31) 9-2 on Friday night. A near-capacity crowd of 2,014 enjoyed Dairy Night at the ballpark.

Hall in just his third pro game amassed his first multi-hit performance of his career and finished it off with a 415 foot blast to center for his second home run of the week. He made a leaping over the shoulder catch in centerfield for the play of the night in the sixth inning.

Visalia trailed the entire game. The Quakes scratched across a run apiece in the first and fourth innings. The Rawhide cut the lead in the sixth with three singles capped by Jake Duer’s RBI knock.

Rancho Cucamonga answered with a home run in the top of the eighth before Hall’s solo big fly cut the lead back to one.

The Quakes then blew the game open with a six run ninth inning. A solo homer started the frame before a two out two RBI single and three run home run.

Raul Garayzar provided strong relief. He pitched 4.1 innings allowing just a run and three hits with five strikeouts. Juan Ledezma added two innings totaling two strikeouts with just a hit and run across.

Carson Kerce chipped in two hits and a run for the Rawhide offense.

Visalia’s three game win streak comes to a close but the Rawhide still lead the series three games to one with the series continuing on Saturday night at Valley Strong Ballpark.

On Saturday actor Jay Chandrasekhar “Thorny from Supertroopers” will meet and greet fans presented by Central Valley Dental Implant, Mulligans, and The Press Boxx. The first 500 fans will receive his bobblehead presented by Central Valley Dental Implant.

The team on Saturday will also transform into the Central Valley Sir Loins on another Sir Loin Saturday at Valley Strong Ballpark.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 PM with gates opening for season ticket holders at 5:15 PM and the general public at 5:30 PM.
