GENEVA, IL - Friday's scheduled game between the West Michigan Whitecaps and Kane County Cougars at Northwestern Medicine Field has been canceled due to rain and hazardous playing conditions.
The Whitecaps have now had nine postponements since the beginning of the 2018 season.
With constant rain throughout Friday in Geneva, the decision was made nearly two hours after scheduled first pitch to cancel the contest. Due to Friday being the final time the Cougars and Whitecaps were expected to play; the game cannot be rescheduled. It becomes the first ballgame West Michigan has had canceled amid its postponements this year.
Last night, a five-run fifth inning helped the Kane County Cougars beat the West Michigan Whitecaps in front of 9,822 fans at Northwestern Medicine Field by a score of 8-5.
