WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Aug. 3, 2018) - In conjunction with the Vs. Cancer Foundation, the Winston-Salem Dash will host a Cancer Survivor Night, presented by Great Clips, on Friday, August 10, for their 7 p.m. game against the Potomac Nationals at BB&T Ballpark to help raise awareness and money toward cancer research.
Tickets start as low as $8 when purchased in advance. Upon entering the gates, fans will receive sunscreen as part of Minor League Baseball's "Cover Your Bases" Sun Safety Initiative. The initiative, in partnership with the American Cancer Society, promotes awareness and prevention of skin cancer, the importance of screenings and precautions to protect skin from excessive sun exposure.

As part of the night, fans will receive bracelets when they arrive at BB&T Ballpark that represent one of six different types of cancer: brain cancer, breast cancer, pediatric cancer, lung cancer, melanoma and prostate cancer.
The bracelets will be sponsored by the Roc Solid Foundation, which builds hope for children battling cancer and their families by creating "Ready Bags" containing what families may need for an overnight hospital stay, building custom playsets for children ages 1-8 and facilitating bedroom makeovers for children ages 8-18.
Following the top of the fifth inning, three-year-old Abby Keating will complete her High Five for Hope. Abby was recently declared cancer-free after battling leukemia, and she has benefited from the Roc Solid Foundation's programs.
Additionally, Great Clips will offer haircuts in exchange for donations to Vs. Cancer, an organization that works with sports teams, athletes and communities to raise funds for child life programs in local hospitals and national pediatric brain tumor research.
In the time leading up to Cancer Survivor Night, Dash front office members have teamed up with Vs. Cancer to create personalized webpages as a means to raise donations for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.
Friday's game will also be followed by a postgame fireworks show. For tickets and more information, call the Dash at (336) 714-2287 or visit wsdash.com.
