WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (June 16, 2018) - Despite a quality start from Jimmy Lambert , Winston-Salem fell to the Wilmington Blue Rocks 2-1 on Saturday night at BB&T Ballpark to snap the Dash's eight-game winning streak, which was the team's longest since August of 2013.
Lambert (4-7) tossed a season-high eight innings for Winston-Salem (41-28) and allowed just one run on five hits while striking out eight.

Lambert cruised through the first six innings, striking out six while throwing just 66 pitches. But in the top of the seventh, Wilmington (30-39) plated its first run against Lambert. After Chris DeVito doubled with two outs, Vance Vizcaino stroked an RBI single to left field to make it a 1-0 contest.
The Dash were unable to get a run across against Wilmington starter Cristian Castillo, who worked just four innings and allowed only one hit while striking out two. Carter Hope (3-1) replaced Castillo in the bottom of the fifth inning and continued to limit the Dash offense, pitching three scoreless innings while allowing just three hits and striking out three.
Matt Foster took over for Lambert in the top of the ninth and struck out two, but the Blue Rocks plated an insurance run, as Gabriel Cancel led off the inning with a double and scored on DeVito's two-out single. The run snapped a scoreless streak for Foster dating back to May 31.
The Dash staged a rally in the bottom of the ninth against Bryan Brickhouse, as Nate Nolan led off the inning by lining a single to left field and advanced to second on Vizcaino's fielding error. Then, with two outs, Alex Call stroked a single to center to score Nolan and bring the Dash within one.
Gavin Sheets came to the plate as the go-ahead run, but he proceeded to fly out to center to end the rally.
The series concludes on Sunday at 2 p.m. inside BB&T Ballpark, as the Dash have the opportunity to clinch a series victory with a win.
