WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Aug. 17, 2018) - Behind a two-run homer from Zach Remillard and six strong innings from the bullpen, Winston-Salem earned a 4-3 win over Wilmington on Friday night at BB&T Ballpark in front of 6,854 fans.
Winston-Salem (31-19, 72-48) starter Alec Hansen got off to a rocky start, allowing two runs on three hits in the first inning. But, the right-hander struck out the final two batters of the inning and then proceeded to strike out the side in the second. Hansen finished with six strikeouts and zero walks in three innings, throwing 50 pitches (33 strikes).

Meanwhile, the Dash offense supported Hansen against Wilmington (29-23, 60-62) starter Andres Sotillet (2-4). Luis González led off the bottom of the first inning with a double, moved to second on a groundout and then scored on an infield single from Nick Madrigal to make it a 2-1 game.
Then, in the bottom of the second inning, Gavin Sheets singled to lead off the inning to bring up Remillard, who socked his 10th home run of the season - a two-run shot - to give Winston-Salem a 3-2 lead.
The Dash added another run later in the inning. With one out, Yeyson Yrizarri drilled a single up the middle and then stole second base to put himself in scoring position. Three batters later, Yrizarri scored on another infield single from Madrigal to put the Dash up 4-2.
Drew Hasler (7-2) came on in relief of Hansen, tossing three scoreless innings to earn his seventh win of the year. Hunter Schryver extended his scoreless streak as a White Sox farmhand to seven innings with two clean frames.
The Blue Rocks drew close in the top of the ninth inning against Devan Watts. After Vance Vizcaino walked and moved to second on a wild pitch, Nate Esposito singled to put runners on the corners. But, after Vizcaino scored on sacrifice fly to make it a 4-3 game, Watts induced a 4-6-3 double play off the bat of Jackson Lueck to end the game and his first save with the Dash.
The Dash continue their series with Wilmington on Saturday with the resumption of a game that was suspended on July 3. The game, which the Dash were trailing 4-1 in, will resume at 5:30 p.m., with the Dash batting in the top of the fifth with runners on first and second and nobody out. Following the conclusion of the suspended game, the Dash and Blue Rocks will play a seven-inning contest. Left-hander John Parke (4-3, 4.08 ERA) is scheduled to start the second game against right-hander Ofreidy Gomez (4-10, 3.83 ERA). Pregame coverage will begin at 5:15 p.m. Fans can catch all of the action on wsdash.com/broadcast, MiLB.tv and the TuneIn Radio App.
Promotions for the homestand include a City of the Arts celebration on Saturday and a Lowes Foods Family Sunday. Meanwhile, kids can run the bases after each of the weekend contests. For tickets and more information, call the Dash at (336) 714-2287 or visit wsdash.com.
