WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (June 21, 2018) - In conjunction with the Chicago White Sox, the Dash have announced that eight players - headlined by star prospect Luis Robert - have been transferred to Winston-Salem's roster to start the second half.
Rated the 24th-best overall prospect by MLB PipelineRobert was signed by the White Sox for $26 million in May of 2017. The 20-year-old outfielder began the season on the Dash's disabled list with a sprained left thumb before being transferred to Low-A Kannapolis, where he posted a line of .289/.360/.400 with four RBIs in 13 games played. The Cuba native is ranked the third-best prospect in the White Sox system by MLB.com.

Alongside Robert, four Midseason South Atlantic League All-Stars have been promoted to Winston-Salem's roster from the Intimidators - right-handers Blake Battenfield and Tyler Johnsoninfielder Laz Rivera and outfielder Luis González.
Among SAL qualifiers, Battenfield had the seventh-best ERA in the circuit with a 2.00 mark. The 17th-round pick out of Oklahoma State also struck out 69 batters in 67.2 innings pitched, and he yielded a 5-3 record over his 13 starts.
Johnson, who is rated the 25th-best prospect in the White Sox system by MLB Pipeline, was tied for fifth in the circuit with seven saves. A fifth-round selection last year out of the University of South Carolina, Johnson struck out 46 batters over 27.0 innings pitched, all while registering a 1.33 ERA.
Rivera, who was a 28th-round pick by the White Sox out of the University of Tampa, led the South Atlantic League with a .346 batting average. The shortstop also smashed six homers to go along with his 24 RBIs.
A third-round pick by the White Sox in 2017, Gonzalez logged an impressive .850 OPS with eight homers and 26 RBIs with the Intimidators. Rated the 18th-best prospect in the White Sox system per MLB PipelineGonzalez posted a 17-game hitting streak from May 15 to June 5.
Also joining the Dash roster from Kannapolis at the start of the second half is right-hander Lincoln Henzman , who was selected in the fourth round in 2017 by Chicago. The former Louisville Cardinal went 6-3 with a 2.23 ERA in 13 starts with the Intimidators.
Meanwhile, two pitchers have been placed on the Dash's roster from Double-A Birmingham - right-handers Cameron Seitzer and Connor Walsh. Seitzer posted a 3.38 ERA in five games for the Barons. Walsh, who was a member of the Dash in 2016, yielded a 10.67 ERA in 19 games pitched for Birmingham this year.
To make room for the eight players, the White Sox have promoted seven of the Dash's stars from the first half to Birmingham - right-handers Dylan Cease, Matt Foster and Zach Thompson , left-hander Bernardo Flores  and outfielders Alex Call, Luis Basabe and Joel Booker.
Lefty Joe Mockbee has been transferred to Kannapolis. The Dash's current roster stands at a Carolina League maximum of 25 players, with three on the disabled list and one on the temporary inactive list.
