Dixon Ticonderoga Turns Timber Rattlers Hits Into Packs of Pencils for Appleton Area Schools
GRAND CHUTE, WI – The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers hitters were as hot as the weather in August leading to a donation of over 30,000 pencils to Appleton Area School District from Dixon Ticonderoga and Timber Rattlers Give Back.

The promotion called for ten 12-packs of Ticonderoga pencils to be donated to AASD for every hit by the Timber Rattlers during their fourteen home games in August. Wisconsin had 122 hits in those games. A total of 2,520 packs – thanks to additional donations from Timber Rattlers Give Back and Dixon Ticonderoga – with 30,240 pencils will be donated courtesy of the Rattlers hitters averaging nearly nine hits per game at Neuroscience Group Field in August.
“We’re proud to partner once again with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers to support students in the Appleton Area School District,” said Katy Diekfuss, Senior Integrated Market/Brand Manager for Dixon Ticonderoga. “Every student deserves the tools they need to succeed, and it’s an honor to provide local classrooms with a donation of Ticonderoga pencils.”
Timber Rattlers Give Back is the official 501(c)3 of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.
“We are extremely grateful to the Timber Rattlers and Dixon Ticonderoga for their generosity and commitment helping our students with the necessary tools to be successful,” said Julie Bargholtz, Coordinator of Family and Community Engagement for Appleton Area School District.

The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers home opener for the 2027 is Tuesday, April 6 against the Beloit Sky Carp at 6:40pm.
