Khris Davis to start rehabilitation assignment with Rattlers on 7/1
GRAND CHUTE, WI - Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Khris Davis will begin a rehabilitation assignment with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on Wednesday, July 1. Davis set a Timber Rattlers record for home runs in a season with 22 when he was a Midwest League All-Star with the Rattlers in 2010.
Davis injured his knee in a game against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Miller Park on Saturday, May 30 and will report to the Timber Rattlers for five games from July 1 through July 5. He hit .280 with 22 homers and 72 RBI in 128 games with Wisconsin in 2010.
The Timber Rattlers will host the Cedar Rapids Kernels on WIXX Bang for your Buck Night on July 1 for the first game of the assignment for Davis. Soda, beer, and hotdogs will be available for $1 during the game with a first pitch scheduled for 7:05pm.
Wisconsin hosts the Beloit Snappers as part of their American National Bank Military Appreciation Weekend on July 4 and July 5 for the final two games of the Davis rehab. Players and coaches will wear patriotic caps and jerseys on Saturday night and patriotic caps to go with their Brewers Sunday jerseys on Sunday afternoon. The caps and jerseys will be up for bid in silent auctions with the proceeds going to the Fox Valley Veterans Emergency Fund.
Game time on Saturday, July 4 is 6:35pm with a postgame fireworks display sponsored by FOX 11. Game time on Sunday, July 5 is 1:05pm.
