Hall Drives in Nine for Wisconsin in 14-5 Win
GRAND CHUTE, WI – Alex Hall broke an 0-for-22 slump in a record-breaking way for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. Hall hit two homers, doubled twice, and drove in a team-record nine runs on Wednesday night to lead the Timber Rattlers to a 14-5 win over the Beloit Sky Carp.

Wisconsin starting pitcher Stiven Cruz walked the lead-off batter to start the game. Kahlil Watson was next, and he homered to the Beloit bullpen for a 2-0 lead. Two outs later, Jake Thompson hit a solo homer to right to put Beloit (6-5 second half, 33-43 overall) up 3-0.
Beloit starting pitcher Zach King walked Darrien Miller to start the Wisconsin second inning. Eduardo García followed with a double. Then, Ernesto Martínez followed with another double to drive in both runners. Additionally, Martínez extended his hitting streak to eleven games with that hit.
Hall got Martínez home with another double to tie the game. That was Hall just getting warmed up on the evening.
Beloit should have been out of the inning with a tie, but an error with two outs allowed Joe Gray Jr to bat with runners at the corners. Gray singled to left to score Hall for a 4-3 lead.
Hall would step to the plate in the bottom of the third batting right-handed against King with the bases loaded and he hit a long home run to left for Wisconsin’s first grand slam since Darrien Miller hit one against the Cedar Rapids Kernels on July 1, 2022. That put the Rattlers up 8-4.

In the fifth inning, García walked to start the inning against reliever Tyler Eckberg, but he was at second with two outs. Hall, batting left-handed this time, launched a homer to right and Wisconsin had a 10-3 lead. This was Halls third multi-homer game of the season.
In the seventh, Yeuris Jimenez retired the first two batters he faced before walking Martínez and Ben Metzinger to being Hall back to the plate again. Hall ripped a double down the line in right to score both runners to give him nine RBI in the game.

Wisconsin added two runs on a two-out error in the bottom of the eighth inning to go up 14-3. The Rattlers loaded the bases to get Hall one more at bat with the bases loaded. This time he would take a 3-2 pitch for strike three to end his record-setting night.
Cruz went six innings and allowed six hits with no walks and three strikeouts to pick up his second straight win.
Miguel Guerrero tossed the final three innings. He allowed a two-out, two-run double to Jacob Berry in the ninth inning, but nothing else to pick up a save in his first appearance since being called up for Carolina.
The biggest RBI games for the Timber Rattlers since 2005 were held by Victor Roache (July 22, 2013), Carlos Peguero (June 15, 2007), and Marshall Hubbard (May 17, 2005). All three had seven RBI in those games.
Game three of the series is Thursday night at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium. Tyler Woessner (5-4, 3.82) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Timber Rattlers. Beloit plans to have Jared Poland (3-3, 4.70) as their starter. Game time is 6:40pm.
Thursday night is TV Sitcom Night with a special appearance by Kate Flannery, who played Meredith on The Office.
