The Rattlers (8-18) had a chance to take the lead in the third inning. Ernesto Martínez Jr doubled to start the third inning but was left standing there when the inning ended as Chiefs starting pitcher Ian Bedell worked his way through the inning.

Peoria (15-12) took the lead in the fourth inning. Victor Scott II had a lead-off triple. Rivas followed with a home run to left to put the Chiefs up 2-0.

Those hits were the only two allowed by Wisconsin starting pitcher Joseph Hernandez in his four innings of work.

Eduarqui Fernández got the Timber Rattlers on the scoreboard in the top of the sixth with a lead-off home run. The homer was the first of the season in the Midwest League for Fernández.

Darrien Miller doubled to start the seventh and took third on a wild pitch with no outs. However, Peoria reliever Dionys Rodriguez escaped the jam with back-to-back strikeouts and a grounder to first to keep the Chiefs up 2-1.

In the ninth, Eric Brown Jr extended his hitting streak to six games with a lead-off single against Matt Hickey. A 4-6-3 double play erased Brown and brought the Rattlers to the brink.

Miller blooped a single to right on a 3-2 pitch to keep the game alive with his second hit of the game. However, Hickey got a force play at second on the next pitch to send the Chiefs to a six-game series sweep of the Rattlers.

The Timber Rattlers are off on Monday. They return to action on Tuesday night with game one of a series against the South Bend Cubs.
