Both starting pitchers went five scoreless innings.

Zach Mort, making his second start of the season for the Timber Rattlers, allowed three hits, walked two, and struck out three as he kept the River Bandits off the scoreboard.

Rylan Kaufman walked five and allowed three hits, but Wisconsin (35-29) went 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position and stranded seven runners. That allowed Kaufman to work five scoreless innings.

The River Bandits (26-39) took the lead in the top of the sixth inning against reliever Robbie Baker. Luca Tresh and Diego Hernandez started the inning with singles. Dillan Shrum followed with a double down the line in left and both runs scored for the 2-0 lead.

The Timber Rattlers were set down in order in the sixth and seventh innings by reliever Emilio Marquez.

Justin King, in his Timber Rattlers debut, pitched a scoreless top of the eighth inning to keep the Rattlers down 2-0.

The tide turned in the bottom of the eighth after Marquez walked Mike Brosseau, Tristan Peters, and Wes Clarke to load the bases with no outs. Anderson Paulino was called into the game to face Joe Gray Jr.

Gray fell behind Paulino 1-2 before he lined a double to the wall in left to tie the game. Warren followed with a single to left to score both Clarke and Gray to put the Rattlers ahead 4-2.

Cam Robinson pitched the top of the ninth, worked around a pair of walks, and struck out two to earn his fifteenth save of the season.

Brosseau played the entire game in the field at third base and went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in the second game of his rehabilitation assignment from the Milwaukee Brewers.

The series continues Thursday night with the final game of the first half. Brewers’ pitcher Brandon Woodruff is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Timber Rattlers as he makes a rehabilitation appearance. The River Bandits have named Zach Haake (0-1, 13.50) as their starter. Game time is 6:40pm
