GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and Dayton Dragons were scoreless through nine innings thanks to outstanding pitching from both sides. Both teams had a chance in the tenth inning, but it was the Rattlers who got the run and won the game 1-0 on Thursday night at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium.

Wisconsin starting pitcher Christian Taugner allowed four hits over six scoreless innings. Three of the hits were to Andy Sugilio and one was to Mark Kolozsvary, but no Dragon runner made it past second base against Taugner. The right-hander walked two and struck out four while collecting his ninth quality start of the season.

Patrick McGuff was the Dayton starting pitcher and he held Wisconsin to two hits, two walks, and a hit batsman while striking out three over five scoreless innings. No Rattler runner made it to third base with McGuff on the mound.

The relievers were just as solid through regulation. Michael Petersen took over for Taugner in the top of the seventh and found himself in a jam with runners at first and second with one out. Petersen escaped the inning when he got pinch-hitter Malik Collymore to ground into an inning-ending 6-4-3 double play.

Wendolyn Bautista relieved McGuff to start the Wisconsin sixth inning and allowed two hits with six strikeouts over his first four innings.

Dayton (43-52 overall, 12-15 second half) had their best chance to score happen in the tenth inning;. Kolozsvary started the inning at second base with Clayton Andrews taking over on the mound for Petersen. Alejo Lopez dropped a bunt that Andrews fielded and threw to third base, but Gilbert Lara appeared to miss the tag on Kolozsvary to leave the Dragons with runners at first and third with no outs. Andrews, the 17th round pick of the Milwaukee Brewers in the 2018 draft, kept the game scoreless by striking out Collymore, getting Jose Garcia on a popup, and striking out Sugilio.

Wisconsin (43-52, 12-14) started their half of the tenth inning with pinch-runner Gabriel Garc
ía at second base. Zach Clark bunted García to third base to bring Payton Henry to the plate. Henry hit a fly to medium right field and Sugilio made the catch. García tagged from third and scored the winning run as the throw was offline.

This was the second walkoff RBI for Henry this season. He had an RBI single with two outs in the tenth inning against Burlington on May 20.

The Timber Rattlers have won five of their last six games.
