INF/OF Chone Figgins Joins Isotopes

Infielder/outfielder Chone Figgins joined the Albuquerque Isotopes from the Los Angeles Dodgers this afternoon, April 24, and infielder Walter Ibarra was transferred to the Rookie-level Ogden Raptors.

Figgins made nine appearances as a pinch hitter for the Dodgers, going 1-for-6 with three walks on the season. The 36-year-old Georgia native has appeared in 12 Major League seasons with a career .277 batting average. Figgins was selected to his first All-Star Game in 2009 as a member of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Ibarra saw action in 10 of the Isotopes 19 games this season, batting .241 with one double and two RBI. He also stole a base.

Albuquerque begins a four-game series against the Fresno Grizzlies tonight. RHP Red Patterson (1-0, 2.76 ERA) will make his fourth start of the season for Albuquerque, while left-hander Mike Kickham (0-3, 4.26 ERA) gets the ball for Fresno. The Bank of the West on-deck show begins at 7:45 p.m., and first pitch is at 8:05 p.m. (all times MT) with Josh Suchon on the call.
