Bats win after rain delay, 11-7

LOUISVILLE,Ky.- After a two hour and forty minute rain delay the Louisville Bats beat the Indianapolis Indians, 11-7. The Bats had two multi run innings in tonight's win.

The Bats right-hander Robert Stephenson(6-9, 4.66) pitched two innings, allowing four hits, six runs, one being a home run , four walks, and striking out two.

Right-Hander Matt Magill earned the win pitching two innings, allowing two hits, one hit, one home run ,one walk, and striking out three.

Indianapolis's Dovydas Neverauskas (3-4, 3.86) took the loss pitching two innings, allowing three hits, four runs, three earned, two walks, and striking out two.

The Indians Alen Hanson hit a home run to lead off the game in the first to put the Indians ahead 1-0. Indianapolis scored four more runs in the first to put them ahead 5-0, sending nine batters to the plate against Louisville starter right-hander Robert Stephenson.  

The Bats Juan Perez hit his fifth home run of the season in the bottom of the first, but the Indians remained ahead 5-1.

Indianapolis scored another run in the second with an RBI double from Jose Osuna to put the Indians up 6-1.

Perez hit an RBI double in the third to give the Bats their second run of the night, but Louisville still trailed 6-2.

Louisville third baseman Seth Mejias-Brean hit an RBI single to tie the game, 6-6, in the fifth. Louisville took the lead when Jesse Winker hit an RBI single to put the Bats ahead 7-6. The base hit for Winker gave him a 12 game hitting streak, tying his career long.

The Indians Danny Ortiz hit a homerun to tie the game 7-7 in the seventh.

The Bats scored three runs in the seventh with RBI singles by Chris Berset and Dilson Herrera to put Louisville up 11-7.

The Bats look to take the series against the Indians tomorrow afternoon. The Bats left-hander Amir Garrett (2-4, 3.24) will take the mound. The Indians will counter with right-hander Trevor Williams (7-6, 2.88). First pitch is 2:05 p.m.
