Longest Game in Isotopes History Falls in Chihuahuas Favor

The Isotopes (37-37) and Chihuahuas (37-38) played in one of the wildest games in Isotopes Park history Saturday night, battling for 14 innings as El Paso outlasted Albuquerque, 13-10. The game took 5 hours and 35 minutes to complete, establishing a an Isotopes record, surpassing the old mark by four minutes set on July 13, 2013 at Iowa.

A total of 40 players were used in the 14-inning affair, tying the PCL's all-time record. The two also set a league record, sending 19 pitchers to the mound with the Isotopes establishing a PCL single-team record with 10 pitchers used.
Albuquerque collected a club record 25 hits on the evening, surpassing the previous record of 24 which was accomplished twice previously. All eight starting position player logged multi-hit games with Ryan McMahon and Cristhian Adames both tying the Isotopes single-game record with five hits apiece. Adames and Jordan Patterson both homered twice during the contest while Domonic Brown hit his second home run of the season in the third inning.
As the game headed deep into extra innings, Albuquerque turned to two position players on the mound in the 14th with outfielders Brown and Rosell Herrera making their professional pitching debuts. The Chihuahuas brought six around to score in the frame to take the lead for good. The Isotopes tried to prolong the game further, scoring three runs in the bottom half of the inning, but the Chihuahuas were able to close out the win.
Jon Gray made his second rehab start with Isotopes, allowing just one run, five hits, and walked four batters in five innings. Gray also compiled six strikeouts during his outing.
The Isotopes and Chihuahuas wrap up their four-game series Sunday evening. The series finale will get underway at 6:05 p.m.
