51s Face Salt Lake in Conference Championship Series

51s will host the Bees on Friday, Sept. 6 at 7:05 p.m.
September 4, 2013

           LAS VEGAS: The Las Vegas 51s professional baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL), Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets and the 2013 Pacific Southern Division Champions, will open the PCL Conference Championship Series (Best-of-5), against the Salt Lake Bees (78-66), Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and the Pacific Northern Division Champions, on Wednesday, September 4 at 5:35 p.m. (PT) at Spring Mobile Ballpark (15,411) in Salt Lake City, Utah. Game # 2 will also be played in Salt Lake on Wednesday, September 5 at 5:35 p.m. (PT). Games #3, #4, #5 will be played at Cashman Field (games 4 and 5, if necessary) and all three games will feature Dollar Beer at the Ballpark.

               51s Playoff Tickets for the PCL First Round (Friday-Sunday, Sept. 6-8) are on sale now at the Cashman Field Box Office and tickets can also be purchased through Ticketmaster (1-800-745-3000, www.ticketmaster.com). Ticketmaster outlets are located at selected Smith's Food & Drug. Individual Single Game ticket prices are: $14.00 (Field), $13.00 (Plaza) and $10.00 (Reserved).

                The 51s, under manager Wally Backman, finished the 2013 campaign with the second-best record in the 16-team PCL with an 81-63 (.563) mark (Oklahoma City was 82-62, .569).

                Las Vegas finished the 2013 campaign over the .500 mark for the second consecutive year (2012: 79-64). The last time the 51s recorded back-to-back over .500 seasons was 2002-03 (2002: 85-59; 2003: 76-66).

                Las Vegas 80-win seasons - The Las Vegas franchise has won 80 or more games in a season four times: 85 (2002, franchise best 85-59 record (.590); 83 (1983 inaugural season, 83-60 (.580); 81 (81-63, .563 in 2013); 80 (1986 PCL champions with an 80-62 mark (.563).

                2013 ATTENDANCE: In 70 dates, Las Vegas' total was 328,266 for an average of 4,690.  Las Vegas' season-high crowds, which included four sellouts, were 11,776 against Round Rock on May 10 and 11,522 for the 10th Annual School Day Game against Albuquerque on May 14 at Cashman Field. The Las Vegas franchise has reached the 300,000 plateau in "home" attendance in all 31 seasons (1983-2013) and the all-time attendance total now stands at 10,314,780. The 51s organization have the proud distinction of being the longest enduring franchise in the history of professional sports in the state of Nevada.

              The 51s will broadcast all games on Lotus Broadcasting on Sports 920 The Game, which carried live all 144 regular season games. Also, all games will be available on the 51s website (Major League Baseball Advanced Media, MLBAM) at www.LV51.com. Russ Langer, the eight-time Nevada Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NSSA), is in his 14th season behind the microphone calling 51s baseball.             

                All 51s games will also be broadcast on MiLB.TV via LV51.com.
