Summary
Akron's Nellie Rodríguez had three hits, and Rob Kaminsky notched his fourth save, as the RubberDucks slipped by the Erie SeaWolves, 3-2, Thursday night at Canal Park in Akron, Ohio.

Turning Point
The RubberDucks (73-56) jumped on Erie starter Beau Burrows (10-9) with two runs in the first inning. Sam Haggerty singled to lead off the inning and scored on a double by Andrew Calica. Ka'ai Tom added an RBI single to drive in Calica and give the Ducks an early 2-0 lead.
Mound Presence
Matt Whitehouse started and worked the first three innings for the RubberDucks. He allowed only a solo homer in the second inning to Dominic Ficociello. James Karinchak tossed a scoreless fourth inning. David Speer (4-2) earned the win by hurling 1.1 shutout innings. Argenis Angulo (1.2 IP) followed Speer and also provided scoreless relief. Jordan Milbrath gave up an RBI single to Troy Montgomery in the eighth to make it 3-2, but lefty Kaminsky pitched a scoreless ninth to earn his fourth save in as many chances.
Duck Tales 
Rodriguez slapped an RBI single in the third inning. He finished 3-4 on the night, with three singles. Calica 2-3, with a double, a steal and a walk.
Notebook
The RubberDucks won the final three games of the series with the SeaWolves (60-69)…The Ducks maintained a half-game lead over Altoona, who beat Harrisburg, 6-3…Time of game: 3:06… Attendance: 4,227.
On the Pond
