WP: Kieran Lovegrove (1-0) LP: Guillon (1-1) Save: Argenis Angulo (5)
Summary
Akron's Mark Mathias slapped a crucial, RBI single in the eighth inning, and Argenis Angulo slammed the door in the ninth for his fifth save, as the RubberDucks slipped by the Harrisburg Senators, 5-4, late Friday night at Canal Park in Akron, Ohio.

Turning Point
Mathias drilled an opposite-field, run-scoring single to right off Derek Self in the bottom of the eighth inning to give the RubberDucks a 5-4 lead. The key hit came on a 1-2 pitch with two outs in the inning and drove home Bobby Bradley, who had doubled. Two batters earlier, Willi Castro lifted a sacrifice fly to right off Ismael Guillòn (1-1) to tie the game, 4-4.
Mound Presence
Kieran Lovegrove (1-0) picked up his first win at the Double-A level, although he allowed a pair of unearned runs in his lone inning of work in the top of the eighth inning. After the RubberDucks botched a rundown play to allow Harrisburg to put men on second and third, Alex Keller lined a two-run single that gave the Senators a brief 4-3 lead. Once the RubberDucks (42-31) had the lead, Angulo weaved a perfect ninth inning for his fifth save.
Duck Tales
Connor Marabell homered smacked a solo homer in the sixth off Sens starter Kyle McGowin to give Akron a 3-2 lead. It was Marabell's eighth homer of the year and his second in as many games. He finished 2-4 on the night. Castro had a hit and a stolen base to go along with his RBI sacrifice fly.
