The 5-5 tie went into the 11th inning, when Akron center fielder Ka'ai Tom had a go-ahead single. In the bottom of the inning, an error by left fielder Connor Marabell allowed the tying run to score and second baseman Hoy Jun Park to reach second base. With two outs, Wagner lined the game-winning hit to left field.
