Turning Point
The RubberDucks (40-30) scored three runs in the sixth inning to erase a 2-1 deficit. Bobby Bradley belted a solo homer off Rayan González (0-1) to tie the game. It was Bradley's team-high 11th homer of the season. Gonzalez walked Willi Castro and then left the game with an injury. Right-hander Scott Griggs entered the game and gave up a single to Mark Mathias, but retired Sam Haggerty on a tapper to the mound for the second out. Tom followed with a clutch, two-out triple to the gap in left-center to drive in two runs and give Akron a 4-2 lead.
Mound Presence
Civale (4-1) worked six solid innings, allowing two runs, one earned, on eight hits. He walked none and struck out four in his longest outing since coming off the DL on June 6th. Civale lowered his ERA to 2.09. Kieran Lovegrove chipped in two innings, allowing one unearned run in the eighth to make it a 4-3 game. Henry Martinez pitched the ninth and successfully protected a one-run lead to earn his 5th save.
