The Famous Chicken Returns To Amarillo In Upcoming Sod Poodles Homestand

The Texas League First-Half South Champion Amarillo Sod Poodles return to HODGETOWN for a seven-game homestand featuring the Famous Chicken presented by the Downtown Athletic Club on July 17 when the Sod Poodles host the Double-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals, the Springfield Cardinals. The homestand will also feature back-to-back fireworks nights on Friday and Saturday and a RUCKUS bobblehead giveaway on Sunday.            
On Tuesday, July 16, the Sod Poodles will begin their homestand against Springfield on a $2 Tuesday presented by Advance Eye Care where fans can purchase $2 select seats (based on availability), Lawn and Standing Room Only tickets. Following the conclusion of the game, all kids are invited to run the bases presented by Street Toyota.  
On Wednesday, July 17, the Famous Chicken makes his return to Amarillo and will be performing during multiple inning breaks throughout the night and will be signing autographs for fans following the conclusion of the game. The night will also feature Weiner Wednesday offering fans $1 hotdogs at concession stands around the ballpark.    
The final game of the three-game series with Springfield will take place on Thursday, July 18 and features another Thirsty Thursday presented by Barnes Jewelry. Fans will be able to purchase $2 fountain sodas and domestic beers ($3 imported beers) around the ballpark.  
The Sod Poodles will continue their homestand on Friday, July 19 when they welcome the Double-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, to downtown Amarillo. Friday night features Christmas in July and postgame fireworks presented by Merrick Pet Care. Children will also have the ability to write letters and visit Santa during the game. Additionally, Sod Poodles and Mission Amarillo will be having a shoe drive for local children in need of new shoes. Fans are encouraged to bring new or gently used athletic shoes to the game. Fans who bring a pair of shoes will receive a voucher for a free soda good for that night only.
On Saturday, July 20, the Sod Poodles will host the traveling inflatable entertainment act, ZOOperstars!, and their second straight fireworks night presented by Texas Tech University and Texas Tech Health Sciences Center.
On Sunday, July 21, the first 1,000 fans 12 years and older to enter HODGETOWN will receive a RUCKUS bobblehead presented by Amarillo National Bank. Following the game, Sod Pups Club members will have the opportunity to run the bases.
The Sod Poodles will wrap up their homestand on Monday, July 22 on a Hometown Hero Monday presented by Bell, where all active Military members, Veterans, and First responders will receive a 50% discount off tickets in-person only at the HODGETOWN box office.
