Logan Farrar and Mitchell Jordan helped the Beloit Snappers (41-43) defeat the Clinton LumberKings (48-38) 5-0 Sunday afternoon at Pohlman Field in front of 834 fans.

For the Snappers, it was their sixth shutout of the season and their first shutout win since June 6th.
With Hunter Hargrove on second in the sixth inning, cleanup hitter Farrar launched his eighth homer of the season to right field. The ball, looking it would be caught by right fielder Jack Larsen, bounced off the right field light pole to make it 3-0 Snappers.
Lazaro Armenteros singled with one out in the first inning before Farrar got the scoring started with a scorching single to center field. Armenteros scored and the Snappers went ahead 1-0, never looking back.
On the other side, Snappers starter Mitchell Jordan struck out a career high 10 batters in six complete innings pitched. He also surrendered just four hits and two walks, earning his third win of the season.
Seth Martinez came on in relief and in three innings of work, he surrendered zero hits or runs and earned his team-leading 10th save of the season. Him and Jordan combined for 14 strikeouts and just four walks.
On the day, Farrar went 2-for-4 with three RBI. Armenteros reached base three times, going 2-for-3 with a run scored and stolen base.
The best hitter of the series has been Snappers first baseman Hunter Hargrove. After going 4-for-5 and 3-for-4 in games one and two, respectively, Sunday he went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In the seventh, Hargrove drove in two more runs with a single, scoring Mickey McDonald and Nick Allen, to make it 5-0.
Beloit continued their season-high winning streak, now reaching five games, and kept their second place standing in the Western division of the Midwest League in the second half.
The game ran two hours and 11 minutes, tying the fastest nine inning game of the season for the Snappers that happened on April 27th against Clinton.
The Snappers have now taken the first three games of the series. Game four of this four-game series against the LumberKings will pick up Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. Left-hander Jared Poche (4-6, 4.78) will be on the rubber to start game four. He will be opposed by the Clinton left-hander Ray Kerr (3-7, 3.62).
